Why are we pet friendly?

Why are some brands not pet friendly?

As you know there are many things within home fragrance products that be both harmful to you and your four-legged friend. Aside from the potential lead poisoning from some wicks, paraffin (which is obtained from petroleum) inhalation from some wax, some types of fragrance can be harmful solely to your furry friend.

It is not recommended to use a high concentration of any essential oil on your pet as it can cause irritation and potentially more serious side effects.

For instance, pennroyal oil (an essential oil) harms your dogs’ liver if ingested, inhaled or absorbed through the skin. Tea tree oil negatively impacts their nervous system! Some fragrance products are unsuitable around pets for this reason. Do not worry! we don't use any of these harmful oils in our fragrance. I recommend researching the ingredients in any home fragrance product before you purchase it just to be safe. We cannot speak specifically on any other brand but our own but stay safe animal lovers <3.

Why are we pet friendly?

When designing our brand, a key focus was ensuring that we were pet friendly, environmentally friendly and vegan. This is mainly due to our own love of animals including our beloved dogs at the time, Poppy and Paisley, who inspired our branding!

To ensure that we met this goal we do not use high concentrations of essential oils in our wax melts that would irritate your pet. Neither do we use harmful essential oils; we thoroughly research each scent before we bring them to you to make sure they reach our standards. But we do not recommend that you or your pet ingest this product as then that would be harmful regardless of how tasty the smell!

With all of our products we recommend storing out of the reach of pets or children. If any product is ingested, please phone the appropriate emergency service. This includes wax melt burners, oil burners, diffusers and reed diffusers not just the essential oil.

Some essential oil is used topically on animals, but we do not recommend the use of our essential oils as they are not designed for this use. Instead think of our oils as an aromatherapy tool. Primarily they are designed to add scent to your room diffuser (simply mixing a couple of drops with the water) and an oil burner (mixed with water also). Mixing our essential oil with water dilutes it removing the issue of the high concentration for pet inhalation. I would personally not recommend using the essential oil topically if your pet licks you a lot just in case they ingest the product this way.

The only product that is sold for use on pets is our pet perfume. We do not personally produce this, but our manufacture has tested the product to ensure its safety. However, just like humans your pet may have allergies or sensitivities. So, it is recommended that you do a patch test with any new pet product you buy to make sure that it is okay for your pet. If there is any reaction at all, rinse the area in cold water to dilute the product and see your vet.

If there are any questions do feel free to contact us using the contact tool. However, if your questions are regarding other brands ingredients etc. we kindly ask you to research them yourself as we are not able to input on any product other than our own. :)
